Some believe that new science related to criminal forensics should be used to look at old cases.

There is a debate over whether new science related tocriminal forensics should be used to re-examine old cases. Some argue that thiscould lead to the discovery of new evidence, while others believe that it couldcreate further problems. In my opinion, while the use of new forensic sciencecan be beneficial, it should be done with caution and only in certaincircumstances.

One reason to support the use of new forensic science isthat it can help in the discovery of new evidence. For example, advances in DNAtechnology have enabled investigators to identify suspects based on traceamounts of genetic material left at crime scenes. This has led to theresolution of many cold cases that were previously unsolved. By re-examiningold evidence with new scientific techniques, it is possible to find new leadsor uncover previously overlooked details.

Another reason to support the use of new forensic science isthat it can provide a more accurate assessment of the evidence. For instance,modern methods of fingerprint analysis are more precise and reliable than oldermethods. This means that cases which previously relied on fingerprint evidencecan be re-evaluated using newer techniques, potentially leading to a differentoutcome.

However, it is important to be cautious about the use of newforensic science in old cases. One reason for this is that there is always arisk of contamination or mishandling of evidence.
