In the education system, there has always been a debate about the focus of schools on academic success and passing examinations. Some argue that schools should not teach skills such as cookery, dressmaking, and woodworking as these can be learned from family and friends. However, this essay will argue that schools should also teach practical skills alongside academic subjects.

Practical skills such as cookery, dressmaking, and woodworking are essential life skills that can help individuals become self-sufficient. By teaching these skills in schools, students are provided with a broader range of knowledge, and they are given the opportunity to explore and develop their talents. Students can learn from trained professionals who have the knowledge and expertise to guide them in these areas. Moreover, it can also provide students with alternative career paths.

Learning practical skills in schools can also promote creativity and innovation. Students can gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge, which can help them develop problem-solving skills. They can use this knowledge to create new ideas, products, or services that can benefit society. For example, a student who learns woodworking can use this skill to create furniture that is affordable and sustainable. In this way, practical skills can contribute to economic growth and development.

Furthermore, teaching practical skills in schools can also promote social and emotional learning. These skills can help students develop a sense of responsibility, self-discipline, and teamwork. Students can also learn the value of patience, perseverance, and resilience, which can help them overcome challenges in their personal and professional lives. Moreover, practical skills can help students develop a sense of pride and accomplishment, which can boost their confidence and self-esteem.

In conclusion, schools should not only focus on academic success and passing examinations. It is equally important to teach practical skills such as cookery, dressmaking, and woodworking. These skills are essential for personal development and can help students become self-sufficient, innovative, and socially responsible individuals. By providing a well-rounded education, schools can help students prepare for a successful future.

 Sample Answer 2

Education is a fundamental aspect of human life, and schools are institutions created to impart knowledge and skills to students. While some argue that schools should focus on academic success and passing examinations, others believe that life skills such as cooking, dressmaking, and woodworking should also be taught in schools. In this essay, I will explore both sides of the argument and provide my own opinion.

Those who believe that schools should focus solely on academic success and passing examinations argue that these skills are essential for success in life. They argue that schools should provide a strong academic foundation for students, which they can build upon later in life. Schools should teach subjects such as mathematics, science, and languages as they prepare students for higher education and future careers. They argue that students can learn life skills such as cooking, dressmaking, and woodworking from family and friends or by attending specialized courses.

On the other hand, those who believe that schools should teach life skills argue that these skills are just as important as academic success. They argue that schools should prepare students for real-life situations, and knowing how to cook, sew, and repair things are essential for daily life. Learning these skills can also help students become more independent and self-sufficient, which can be beneficial for their future. In addition, schools that teach life skills can provide opportunities for students to develop new interests and hobbies.

In my opinion, schools should teach both academic subjects and life skills. While academic success is important, it is also essential to learn basic life skills to lead a well-rounded life. Knowing how to cook, sew, and build things can help students become more independent and confident. Moreover, teaching these skills in schools can also provide an opportunity for students to learn from experienced professionals and develop a passion for these trades. However, it is important to balance academic and life skill education to ensure that students receive a well-rounded education.

In conclusion, the debate over whether schools should focus solely on academic success or also teach life skills is a complex one. While academic success is important, learning life skills such as cooking, dressmaking, and woodworking can be equally beneficial. Therefore, schools should incorporate both academic and life skill education to provide students with a well-rounded education that prepares them for real-life situations.

Some countries enforce strict laws regarding the legal age for drinking, while others believe that having flexible laws is a better policy. In my opinion, having a legal age for drinking can be beneficial, but the severity of the law depends on the country's culture and social norms. One cause of having a legal age for drinking is to reduce the number of drunken driving incidents. Young adults who consume alcohol are more likely to engage in risky activities like driving under the influence. For instance, in the United States, the legal age for drinking is 21, and since the law's implementation, the number of drunken driving accidents has significantly reduced. On t...
